Creating the futuristic bikes from the action film Priest: Two Hollywood car fabricators Cinema Vehicle Services and Ghostlight Industries created the films eight motorcycles in just six weeks. Since the studio was tasked with sourcing the bikes for the Priest production, both Cinema Vehicle Services and Ghostlight Industries received a small shipment of Suzuki Gladius to work with.
"The stretching was a challenge," said Ghostlight owner and manager Cyril O'Neill. "To match the artist's aesthetic look, we went with a suspension system typically used in sidecars." Over the course of each shop's build, fabricators would regularly take the Priest bikes onto the open road to ensure they handled and performed properly.
"Everything on our bike was road-worthy from a mechanical stance," said Cinema Vehicle Services fabricator Mark Mazure. "I bet even now you could register it and drive it on the street."
Each shop returned the bikes with just a spartan coat of paint — it'll be up to the production's artisans and armorers to apply weapons and "age" the bikes using additional paint.The full story at Wired

Transportation for the mind: Designer Martin and Roger Dean's retreat pod. Created in the 70's the fibreglass pod featured a stereo, adequate air-conditioning and to counter possible claustrophobia the door would shut by its own weight, so no catches were needed. The interior of the Pod was lit by hundreds of tiny orange neon bulbs which looked liked "tiny glow-worms"...we want one.Via: Future Hi
