Upon learning that ex-husband Nick Lachey had popped the question to fiancee Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Simpson became frantically obsessed with finding out more information on the story.

She found out about the engagement just like the rest of us did — online. A pal of Jessica’s said that soon afterward, she began “calling everyone, first her sister, Ashlee, and then everyone else in her circle…she was Googling Nick for a bit.”

She even went as far as having a friend of hers set up a Google Alert so that she could stay aware of what was happening.
